Anchovy, Mozzarella and Basil Pizza


I know many people hate anchovies, but I love them!!

This amazing pizza recipe combines them with creamy mozzarella and fresh basil to make a fantastic pizza. You could even add a few capers or even some black olives to make a difference.


1 Quantity Pizza Dough or Pre-bought Pizza Base
5 Tbsp Tomato Passata
1 Ball Mozzarella, sliced
50g Pecorino, grated
5 small plum tomatoes, sliced
10 Anchovies
few basil leaves
dried oregano
olive oil
(1). Pre-heat oven to 220 centigrade/ Gas Mark 6.
(2). Roll out pizza dough to form a large 12 inch circle, place dough in a pre-oiled pizza tray or on a floured pizza stone.


(3). Dollop passata onto centre of the dough and use a spoon or ladle to spread over the base, leaving a good 1 inch crust around the outside.

(4). Place the sliced mozzarella over the passata, then scatter the tomato slices and anchovies over the top. Sprinkle with oregano and grated Pecorino.

(5). Drizzle with oil and cook in the pre-heated oven for 20 minutes or till dough becomes cooked and golden.
(6). Remove from oven and eat straight away
